Kobra X Bed Checker

The Kobra X Bed Level Checking Tool is designed to provide a mechanical reference for measuring the clearance between the printhead and build plate at multiple locations across the printable area.

By comparing these measurements, the tool can help identify variations in the printhead-to-bed relationship that may not be obvious through the printer’s automatic bed leveling system alone.

The tool can be used to help diagnose:

• X-axis gantry alignment – Determines whether the gantry is parallel to the build plate from left to right.
• Bed flatness – Identifies high or low areas across the magnetic heated bed surface.
• Bed-to-gantry alignment – Helps determine whether clearance changes from the front to the rear of the build plate.
• Localized surface deviation – Makes it easier to identify specific areas where the heated bed may be raised, depressed, or distorted.
• First-layer inconsistencies – Helps isolate mechanical conditions that may contribute to uneven nozzle-to-bed clearance across the print area.
